What is the teaching medium? 
SAI modules and certification programs are available online via the SAI Online Training Platform.

Selected modules within the Pro Audio and Integrated Systems streams are instructor-led, however only Shure authorized dealers and channel partners are required to complete the hands-on training and practical examination to receive certification.

What is the course language?

Who can enroll in the online courses?
The SAI program is open to the public. A simple registration is required to access the courses. The training materials are specifically designed for audio professionals, system integrators, consultants, and end users like engineers, and musicians.

What are the entry qualifications? 
There are no prerequisites for taking the online courses. For easier understanding, we do recommend applicants to have some knowledge in the respective fields:

Retail Stream: Applicants are recommended to have a basic understanding of the Shure product offering for Personal Listening and Retail Wireless & Wired Microphones. Please visit to browser our portfolio.

Pro Audio and Integrated Systems Stream: Applicants are recommended to have successfully completed a diploma or above on electronics, computer systems or audio engineering OR possess a minimum of 2-year working experience in the audio industry.

Can I select more than one certification at the same time? 
Yes, you can select and study for more than one certification / online course at the same time, as long as you can manage your time and progress. You may select your preferred courses upon registration on the SAI Online Training Platform.

How can I enroll into/quit a course?
You can enroll into a course by simply clicking the "Get this course" function in the course catalog.

If you wish to quit a course, please contact us at and we will remove the course from your account.

How much time do I have to complete a module / stream?
There is no time limit for completing individual courses or entire certification streams. As a general guideline, we recommend completing an entire certification stream (Integrated Systems, Pro Audio, or Retail) within 6 months.

Do I have to attend the webinar? What if I have schedule conflict? 
We highly recommend you to attend webinars as they are a great way to better understand the course content. The webinar schedule will be announced in advance. If you are not available, the webinar will be recorded and the audio clips will be available in the Course Materials section of the module on

Do I have to take the quizzes?
We highly recommend you to take the quizzes to prepare yourself for the written examination. However, quizzes are not mandatory. They will not be counted towards the final grade of the module.

Can I test out of course classes / Can I go directly to the online exam?
If you are confident that you have a reasonable level of understanding of the topics, you have the option to take the test for each course without completing the training modules. Should you fail the tests, you will be required to complete each of the courses before attempting the tests again.

How do I pass a course?
To pass a course, you have to take a written / online examination with 80% of the questions answered correctly.

What happens if I fail?
You can retake the online examination once. If you fail a second time, please contact us to reset your account. You may then start over and go through the module and online examination again.

If you fail a practical examination, you will need to retake the examination at the next instructor-led training.

What will I receive after completing the entire certification program? 
You will receive a certificate and an SAI Expert logo (of the chosen certification) which you can use on your profile and business card.

Does the SAI Certification expire? Do I need to recertify my SAI Certification?  
Certifications are valid for two years after successful completion of all examinations. Thereafter, you have to renew your SAI Certification by passing the applicable online recertification examinations.

In case new modules are introduced to a certification stream (for example when a key new product is launched), certification holders have to attend the respective training and complete examination within ONE YEAR after launch of the module.

Can I earn any renewal units (RUs) towards AVIXA CTS accreditation?
Each of the Integrated Systems Certification courses provides AVIXA CTS, CTS-D and CTS-I renewal units (RUs). Please refer to this document by AVIXA for details on the applicable RUs.
Within the Pro Audio and Retail Certification streams, the successful completion of the following modules will qualify you to earn renewal units (RUs) toward AVIXA CTS accreditation.

What are the system requirements to use the learning portal?
You can view all materials with web browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and IE 8 or above on a computer.

How much is the program fee?
The SAI program is free of charge.
