China Europe International Business School Upgrades to Shure QLX-D Digital Wireless System

Shanghai, July 2015 - 21 years since its launch, the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) has solidified its reputation as the leading international business school in Asia. Co-founded by the Chinese government and the European Commission, it has been ranked by the Financial Times as the #1 business school in Asia for six consecutive years, and it was also the first in China to receive accreditations from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

The institution has already relied on Shure for many years, utilizing the analog wireless series to facilitate the school’s top-tier MBA, PhD, and Executive Education programs. Being confident in the high quality and outstanding wireless performance offered by Shure, CEIBS has recently upgraded its wireless microphone installations to the QLX-D Digital Wireless System.

A big upgrade from the previous installation, the school is installing a total of 96 channels of the
QLX-D Digital Wireless System, to be used across 24 classrooms. Mr. Cheng from the audio management department states, "due to the high concentration of classrooms in one area and their close proximity, we required a system with multiple frequency bands. This caused quite some difficulties when we researched potential systems for our wireless microphone upgrade. QLX-D turned out to be the ideal solution. With its high spectral efficiency and wide bandwidth, it’s very easy to implement a large number of channels.”

Designed specifically for high spectrum efficiency, QLX-D reliably operates more on-air channels than any other wireless system in its category, which makes it a perfect match for the CEIBS auditorium and classroom buildings, where multiple classes are in session simultaneously.

Highlighting the advantages of the system setup and management, Mr. Cheng adds “Thanks to its ethernet connectivity, QLX-D was extremely simple to set up and we could effortlessly connect all the receivers. The networked, automatic channel scanning also makes it very easy for us to find and assign open frequencies across all our receivers, and we can quickly deploy them to the transmitters with the IR sync function. This solved a lot of our audio interference issues.”

The audio management department at CEIBS is also utilizing the Shure Wireless Workbench 6 control software to manage the entire system and to carry out advanced frequency coordination.

Mr. Cheng concludes “With its outstanding wireless capabilities, QLX-D is a great solution for our campus setup. We’ve happily used Shure for a long time and its professional wireless systems fit perfectly into our technologically advanced facilities.”
