Shure Announces “Drum Mastery 2019” - The Shure Drum Contest at NAMM

Winner will receive a trip to London for a drumming masterclass with a VIP drummer and a drum-miking workshop at Metropolis Studios

Shure is calling on rhythm heroes and talented percussionists to enter the company’s new competition, “Drum Mastery 2019”- The Shure Drum Contest. Eligible independent drummers from 44 countries around the world are invited to enter. The Grand Prize Winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip to London,  workshops at Metropolis Studios, and Shure gear valued at approximately USD $5,000. See the official rules at drum-mastery.shure.com (“Website”) for full eligibility requirements.

To enter, drummers must submit via the Website a video showcasing their creativity and unique drumming talents on an acoustic drum kit. Drummers must be playing alone without any other musical accompaniment. In addition to submitting an entry video, contestants should select the Shure gear they’d like to win using the Website’s drum mic configurator.

After submission, each entry video must receive a minimum of 50 votes to qualify for official judging. The Fan Favorite (entry video receiving the most online community votes) will be “shortlisted” to enter the final round. Shure will then select a Country Winner from each Eligible Country for the final round. A panel of all-star drummers will pick the top three winners from all Country Winners and the Fan Favorite.

“Drummers are foundational to a band, as they are the rhythm keepers tucked away behind their kits. We want drummers to get the glory they deserve by entering our Drum Mastery contest,” said Jens Rothenburger, Director of Global Marketing for Musician and Consumer Audio at Shure.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a five-day, all-expense-paid trip to London, a one-day drumming masterclass with a well-known drummer, and a one-day drum-miking workshop with a professional sound engineer at Metropolis Studios. The Grand Prize also includes Shure products valued at approximately USD $5,000.

The Second and Third Prize Winners will take home Shure gear valued at approximately USD $3,000 and $1,000, respectively. Additionally, each Country Winner and the Fan Favorite will receive a prize package consisting of a Shure MV88+ Video Kit and Shure SE215 Sound Isolating™ Bluetooth Earphones.

Kicking off at NAMM 2019, the Drum Mastery 2019 contest will accept submissions from January 24 to April 15, 2019. The Community Voting Period will be open through May 6, 2019. Winners will be chosen by July 9, 2019.
