Hong Kong Pop Star Sammi Cheng Relies On Shure Equipment To Power Her Concert Tour

One of the most prominent female singers in Hong Kong is relying on equipment from Shure, a leading global manufacturer of audio equipment, to power her popular #FOLLOWMi concert tour. Sammi Cheng has already sold out her concert venues in a matter of hours, with ticket prices selling on the secondary market for nearly 30 times the original price. With this type of demand and expectation for a blockbuster show, the audio must be top quality.

Shure has provided a complete audio solution to Cheng for this momentous tour. Shure has customized five handheld microphones specifically for Cheng to perform with throughout the tour. Those microphones are configured to use “frequency diversity mode”, which improves the reliability of the vocal signal.

While the stage set up at Hong Kong Coliseum is extremely visual, the T-shaped stage with LED panels built specifically for the show have the ability to cause signal distortion and interference. However, with Shure’s Axient® Digital wireless solution, the audio is able to maintain its crisp and clear performance.

The concert is using Shure Axient Digital ADX Series (8-channels) and Axient Digital AD Series (16-channels), along with UHF-R® (22-channels), PSM® 1000 (8-channels) and PSM® 300 (3-channels) to handle several dynamic performances.

Dubbed by the media as the “Canton-pop Queen”, Cheng has produced more than 80 studio albums, 10 live concert albums, more than 130 singles (songs) and has received around 200 total awards from acting to singing. She is one of the female artists with most number of concert shows in Hong Kong Coliseum with 89 and counting.
