Manager, Product Marketing

This position is based in Singapore.


Job Description:

Under the direction of the Regional Sales Director, the incumbent is accountable for the Segment Product Marketing plan and strategy in South East Asia region. Key responsibilities include 1) Understand the end-user needs and translate these into product concepts that drive our product development cycle, also to participate the development of new products through Global Product Management Division. 2) Define the right product portfolio for the respective vertical segment 3) Drive value proposition of new products


Representative Duties
:

  • Takes the lead in the product identification process, participates regular global information exchange on market intelligence, technology trend and market needs, and drives the growth of the responsible product category and maintain expert knowledge on competitive product portfolio
  • Collaborates with Associates from other Shure Sales Organisation on a regular basis to exchange market intelligence, technology trend and market needs, recommends and defines updates to existing products that will make them more regionally acceptable (Qualify all opportunities)
  • Represents South East Asia region as the “voice of the customers”, ensure customer requirements are well integrated into the product portfolio
  • Manages all aspects of product development, including pricing, demand forecast, product/packaging refresh, specifications review, product deviation, technical/compatibility and compliance issues
  • Take the lead to define USPs, Value Proposition as well as Positioning Statement for new product Introduction and drive the process to define product strategy for proper execution. Make sure the information is conveyed to the Regional Sales team and channel marketing team for implementation
  • Collaborates with Demand Planning and Supply Operation teams on volume forecasting, supply allocation, and actions related to inventory management
  • Steers the objectives, methodology, and timing of research initiatives from Global Market Research that support the New Product Identification Process and other corporate initiatives
  • Work with Sales Team to determine which products to bring to which country
  • Work with key stakeholders in the Product Launch Process by providing product availability information from Operations Team to Sales, secure samples for trade exhibitions, and ensuring that regional staffs are properly trained on new products prior to launch
  • Works closely with other functional departments to develop education tools and multimedia material, identifies new market segments or niches/opportunities that may lead to product line extensions, or require product modification
  • Provides training, presentation and demonstration on product features and benefits to internal Shure Associates, media and business partners such as independent Distribution Centers, as well as end users
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements
:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Marketing or related discipline; qualification in Engineering or Electronics Engineering is considered to be an advantage; MBA or Master degree is preferred
  • Minimum 8 years’ marketing experience in audio industry; experience in professional audio or audiovisual industry is desirable
  • Self-motivated, great team player and multitasking
  • Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to plan from conception to execution
  • Detail oriented, disciplined and strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with proficient in both spoken and written English
  • Computer Literate – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with SAP is considered as an advantage
  • 30% business travels
