Sydney-based Australian duo The Presets are a two piece consisting of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes. Their musical path wouldn't be unfamiliar to acts like Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails, and the Faint with a touch of disco to boot.

Their first album was released in 2005 to positive critical response. Their second album, Apocalypso, was released on 12 April 2008. The album was a commercial and critical success, winning the ARIA Awards for "Best Dance Release" and "Best Group" and becoming the first electronic act ever to win the coveted "Album of the Year" award in Australia. They also won the 2009 APRA Awards for "Best Songwriters Of The Year" and the 2009 ARIA award for Best Dance Release for Talk Like That. In October 2008, the band won six ARIAs at the 2008 ceremony including "Producers of the Year", "Best Artwork (Artwork by Jonathan Zawada)", "Best Video (My People, Directed by Kris Moyes)", "Best Dance Release", "Best Group", "Album of the Year".
